RVG - Brain Worms (Vinyl)
RVG - Brain Worms (Vinyl)
Revered Melbourne band RVG make their highly anticipated return with the announcement of their third studio album, Brain Worms â out Friday June 2!
Between the four bandmates â lead singer and guitarist Romy Vager, guitarist Reuben Bloxham, drummer Marc Nolte and bassist Isabele Wallace â Brain Worms sees the band at their most confident. Theyâve moved past their influences, pushed themselves, and tried new things. And they have made a record they can, by all accounts, call their best.
After a momentous first five years â finding critical acclaim for debut A Quality of Mercy (2017), landing on countless end-of-year Best Of lists, and playing alongside some of the worldâs biggest acts in Pixies, Kurt Vile, Pete Doherty, Sleaford Mods, Camp Cope, Shame, and more â RVG released second album Feral (2020) as the world was locking down. Feral was called âmasterfully executedâ by The Big Issue, âthe record of a lifetimeâ by Rolling Stone Australia, and given four-and-a-half stars by the Sydney Morning Herald.
âHype is scary. After two years of Covid it felt like the hype had gone down so we were able to just do stuff,â says Vager. âThis time around we were like, this is what weâre doing, weâre taking control, weâre taking risks, and weâre going to make an album that sounds big so that when we hear it on the radio we want to hear it again.â
âIf we could only make one more album, it would be this one,â says Vager.
